RUST Radtown Monument Guide

RUST Radtown Monument Guide

Bringing back some of that early game nostalgia, the Radtown monument was fondly remembered by some of the OG RUST players, as Radtown was introduced to RUST with the October 2024 World 2 Update. This monument is at the lowest end of difficulty among RUST monuments.

This guide provides detailed information about the Radtown monument, enabling you to quickly identify basic facts and develop callouts. It also helps you prepare, access, and successfully run the monument while providing insight into the different types of loot, NPCs, and environment variables you may encounter. Radioactive Water, Diesel Fuel Spawns, High Density of Food, and Automotive Crates

Monument Overview

The Radtown monument is moderately stocked compared to other monuments regarding readily available loot and relatively small for a monument of its type. That being said, it should be considered very dangerous due to its unmatched hiding places, blind corners, and roof angles, which could make even the best-geared players easy targets for grubs with guns.

Aside from early game players lying in wait with Double Barrel Shotguns, the Radtown boasts a minimum radiation requirement of 10 protection within any of its buildings to take no damage. The road area has no radiation requirement, and the monument doesn’t have scientists present.

It is an excellent monument for acquiring some early-game food and provisions. Because this isn’t a safe zone monument,

Preparing for the Radtown Monument
New players and seasoned veterans alike will venture into the Radtown monument, which is very easy to access and provides a source of Radioactive Water, early-game loot crates, and a Recycler.

As a result, it’s important to remember this isn’t a safe zone monument, and players should be aware that open-world PVP takes place, and they are just as likely to find a bullet to the back as they are a crate with resources. As with any non-safe venture you take in RUST, check out our guide for the Best RUST Armor Combinations to maximize your chances of survival. You’ll also want to ensure you have the proper level of radiation protection to explore the surrounding buildings.

Additionally, you may consider setting up a Computer Station at your base, as Radtown has three CCTV Cameras. Setting up Radtown’s CCTV Camera Codes is simple. It will let you and your teammates remotely monitor enemy and friendly players at the monument from the safety of your base.

The Radtown’s CCTV Camera Codes are as follows:

Running the Radtown Monument
The Radtown monument is comprised of 7 areas of significance:

The Outer Perimeter
The Garage Building
The Small House
The Flaming Warehouse
The Loading Garage
The Large House
The Awning Dumpsters
The Outer Perimeter
Bottom Gate

Since every good monument needs a starting point and no two monuments will spawn procedurally at the same configuration on any two maps, we affectionately call this introductory gate the Bottom Gate based on its position in the intro image. This gate is distinguishable from the others due to its very close proximity to a truck in the middle of the road just inside the monument.

There is no real loot and only two notable areas of interest in this area. The first is a gatehouse, void of lights or other features, and having broken barricades out front. The second is the gate itself, with a ladder that can be used to get on top, either as a point of ambush or to live out your parkour dreams. The gate is adorned with a sign that reads Radtown.

Top Gate

The Top Gate is almost a mirror image of the bottom gate, save one notable exception. In the case of the broken barricade at this point of interest, a spark effect has been added for differentiation. Again, there is both a ladder and a guard shack at the entrance.

The gate is adorned with a sign that reads Radtown. The street leading in and through the monument is littered with broken-down trucks and cars, dozens of electrical transformers, and all manner of places to duck and cover from gunfire. Presumably, this area will be traversable by end-of-wipe Bradley APC patrols.

The Garage Building

Workshop

The workshop is the largest room in the building and can be accessed from three different passages, including an open garage door. It potentially houses a lootable barrel, a diesel barrel, and a vehicle parts crate. Both restrooms are exclusively accessed from this room.

Garage Hall 1

This area does not contain discernible loot or points of interest. However, it does lead to the stairway up to the second floor, acting as an intermediary point between the workshop and recycler room and as both an entrance and exit to the building.

Recycler Room

This room, accessible from Garage Hall 1 only, houses the only recycler in the monument. It has windows that players may look through and/or fire in and out of and shelving that can spawn a food crate. Be aware that this room requires 25 Radiation protection to prevent radiation damage.

Hers & His

Probably the most bathrooms in a single monument, we come to hers and his, side by side, directly off of the main workshop area of the garage. Both are quite disgusting, but each has comfort-giving toilets for player convenience.

Quad-Access Hall

Directly off the workshop, a hallway opens into three additional rooms and, technically, two exits. There is nothing lootable in this hallway.

Sleeping Quarters

This small but efficient sleeping quarters contains two bunk beds. It has a relatively open window that may be fired through, a food crate, and a floor drain.

Tire Storage

Towards the back corner of the building lies a tire storage room with two full racks and the potential for one lootable box. Also in the room is another smaller, miniature store room with no loot. These are perfect ambush areas. The room has a wide and open window for players to jump in and out.

The Office

Rounding off the garage’s first floor, the office is the front-area service spot where customers would otherwise be greeted and robbed had the garage been open for service. There is ample seating, an exit to the outside, and absolutely no loot in this area.

Back Alley Ladder / Stairs

The back alley has several ways for players to access the second floor and roof. While having just a few barrels to loot, this tactically prudent area leads into the backdoor (garage hall 1) for entry to the first floor and immediate access to the second-story stairs. There is also a ladder straight to the roof and a second set of steel steps up the side of the building to the catwalks.

Radiation Water Stairs

Opposite the back alley is one of two radiation water puddles at this monument. Standing in and/or drinking from this pool will radiate players, eventually leading to death. The stairs lead to a second-story entrance, parkour roof access, and the steel catwalk. There is no real loot in this area, but it is a very pvp-oriented area to be familiar with.

Stairwell / First Room

There’s not much to see here once you climb the stairs into the first room of the second story. There is a fortifiable peak overlooking both this stair entrance and the second-floor top door that should be noted.

Storage Room

This small storage room resembles a makeshift sniper’s perch and offers some exciting peaks to the outside and plenty of covers to boot. It contains the only lootable box on this floor; it’s sure to be a favorite amongst campers.

Back Exit Hall

Finally, connecting the back alley stairwell, the second-floor exit, and the catwalk, this second-story hall functions solely as an alternate entrance or exit. It has no loot but several key covers from gunfire.

The Roof

For those of us looking for ideal spots to fight from, we present The Roof, accessible by rope ladder from the back alleyway and through various means of parkour from the steel catwalk just beneath it. The roof boasts no loot or other goodies but offers ample things to hide behind and a perch from which to fire.

The Small House

Foyer

Entering from the street-facing front of the building, players are immediately greeted with a small, relatively empty foyer area. The stairs to the left take you to the second floor, the first door on the right takes you to the living room, and the second door on the right takes you to the kitchen. This area has no loot and very few places to hide, but it would be crucial to watch in a gunfight.

Living Room

Like the main foyer area, the living room is relatively void of player points of interest, save a small food crate that can spawn on a bookshelf. It opens into the kitchen / back door area.

Kitchen

Surprisingly, the kitchen in this building has four possible entrances. While the three doors are evident, the people-sized window is an excellent addition. This glorified hallway is also void of lootable items.

Stairwell

The stairwell leads to the second floor and doubles as a hallway for both upper rooms. An open window at the end of the hall is also accessible, with a bit of parkour from the outside carport awning.

Restroom

Be sure to watch your footing if using this restroom at night, as a good chunk of the floor is now in the living room. In addition to a comfort-giving toilet, there is also the chance that a food crate can spawn over in the corner underneath the sink. The one non-barricaded window also doubles as a quick escape path for those in need.

Bedroom

As with the bathroom, this bedroom also has a highly convenient emergency exit to the first-floor living area but boasts the one lootable crate spawn location. There is nothing else to see here, as the window is too narrow to squeeze through. It’s a nice place to shoot from, though.

The Flaming Warehouse

Easy Access Side Entrances

Though one of the larger structures in this monument, the Flaming Warehouse has almost zero loot to attract players. However, it does hold a fairly significant advantage of being a corner building with many entrances, exits, and sneaky peeks to fight from. To make your way to the second floor or roof faster, the easy access side shown can help you reach either quickly.

Fire Hall

Acting as a simple passthrough, Facepunch decided that this hallway wasn’t quite dangerous enough and set half of it on fire. The fire will hurt players who come in contact with it and grant the building a nice ambiance.

Glowing Hall

If fire isn’t exactly your thing, there is also a radioactively illuminated passage that is equally charming. There is no loot here either, but man, those barrels are stylish.

Radioactive Puddle 2

As promised earlier in this guide, the second radioactive puddle is outside the flaming warehouse. Players may use this liquid as they please and break or loot barrels here or there. There is also a convenient stairwell leading to the second-floor hallway.

Second Floor Hall

Unlike the other two odd hallways in this building, the second-floor hall has some decent vantage points from which to do combat. It isn’t the ideal place to fight, as getting pinned down inside is relatively easy. It also has a chance to spawn one of the only loot boxes in the entire building and a food crate.

Roof

Like the other rooftops accessible in Radtown, this roof has plenty of obstacles to hide behind and offers a wonderful perspective from which to engage the enemy. It also has a small chance of spawning a mid- to high-tier lootable crate.

The Loading Garage

Office

As any good business should, the loading garage has its own miniature walkthrough office for processing paperwork. For player convenience, there is a small food crate inside a doorless fridge in the corner.

Back and Side Lots

The back and corner ends of the loading garage are what one would expect: trash receptacles with a few lootable barrels here and there. There’s not much in the way of parkour or secret methods to get to the roof with this one. It’s just a sleek, relatively clean walkway with a nice back door entrance.

Back Storage

You’d think there’d be fewer unsupervised lit candles in a building presumably filled with crude oils and petrol. That being said, there is very little to see in this room outside of the calming vibe and non-lootable car parts.

Center Storage

In keeping with the candle theme, the central room in this building, in addition to linking the other rooms together, houses one of two diesels kept on the premises. There is no other loot in this room.

Workshop

Finally, the workshop has a non-functioning car lift, a trash bin, toolboxes, and a single lootable barrel and box spawn. This room also has a half-opened garage door for easy front-of-building access.

The Large House

Foyer

Yes, that sofa is usable and nearly as comfortable as it looks. Despite the unrealistic length of the boards used to create the floor, you get a rustic feeling when entering the large house’s foyer. It’s cozy and welcoming yet still gives you that feel of post-apocalyptic ruin. There is, unfortunately, no loot to be had in this room.

Recreation Room

Just a bit of art and wonderfully symmetrical lighting to bring a space together. Regrettably, the chairs and table aren’t usable by players. The hole blasted in the wall leading to the kitchen is quite convenient, though.

Kitchen

Like all other kitchens in this town, there isn’t much to look at other than the health department violations and possibly one food crate on the shelf. Honestly, who keeps 2% milk on the shelf above the sink?

Mudroom

Little more than a single square-sized walkthrough mudroom/pantry combo, no loot or points of interest exist here.

Livingroom

Yet another functional couch, but not a functioning television? At least there is some nice art to gaze out at while you lounge. Just behind the couch is another spawnable food crate. There is not much else to see here.

Stairwell

If you’re good at parkour, one of the two open windows in this stairwell can be jumped into from the outside. If you’re like the rest of the world, you might as well take the stairs. This hallway leads to the large house’s final two (or three perspective-depending) rooms.

Conjoined Rooms

The previous tenants clearly had no issues with personal space, opting to blow a hole in the wall separating their bedrooms to have more epic sleepovers.

Tactically, there are plenty of places to hide and fire from out the windows in these rooms, and there is a lootable crate spawn in the center-most room.  If you haven’t picked up on it yet after all of your travels in this monument, all of the clocks seem to have stopped promptly a minute until 12.

Bathroom

One of the cleaner restroom experiences in Radtown, this bathroom is once again complete with a wonderful view of the street for minimal privacy while using the comfort-granting toilet.

The Awning Dumpsters

I’m not sure that it really qualifies as a ‘building’ like the others, as it’s not exactly enclosed. That said, this area does come with its own comfort-yielding flaming barrel (wood not included).

Quite a few breakable barrels spawn in and around the structure, and there are plenty of camouflage sneaky little places to hide with a weapon. Enter this area with hesitation. Yes, you can get inside the dumpsters and hide. No, we don’t know why you’d want to. Don’t forget to look for a spawning Diesel barrel inside one of the vans.

Final Thoughts on the Radtown Monument
The Radtown monument offers a unique blend of nostalgia and danger, making it a monument worth exploring for new and seasoned RUST players. Its manageable loot, hidden ambush points, and modest radiation requirements make it an excellent early-game resource, but not without its challenges.

Players should be prepared for unexpected PVP encounters and know the terrain well to maximize survival chances. Stay vigilant, plan your approach, and always be ready for a fight. As the game evolves, we will continue to update this guide, ensuring you have the most current information to conquer Radtown
